Senior / Staff Product Engineer (Backend)

My client is looking for a Senior or Staff Backend Product Engineer who loves building products from the ground up, solving complex technical challenges, and shipping features that have a real impact.

This is an opportunity to join a high-performing engineering team where you'll have genuine ownership, influence product direction, and help shape the future of an AI-first platform.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing and scaling backend systems to support rapid growth
  • Building robust APIs and distributed services
  • Developing infrastructure that powers AI-driven features
  • Improving database performance, reliability and scalability
  • Enhancing monitoring, observability and platform resilience
  • Working closely with Product and Design to deliver customer-focused features
  • Taking ideas from concept through MVP to production, iterating quickly based on user feedback

  • Experience taking products from idea to MVP and beyond
  • Someone who ships quickly, learns from users and iterates fast
  • Entrepreneurial mindset (founders, side projects or startup experience is a big plus)
  • Interest in AI and experience building or integrating AI-powered products
  • Excellent collaboration skills with engineers, designers and product teams
