Build technology that solves real problems

Senior Product Engineer (Backend)

We're working with a growing fintech that's changing how insurance businesses manage their financial operations.

The platform simplifies payments, reconciliation, reporting, payouts, and integrations, replacing fragmented processes with smarter, more efficient technology.

We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer (Backend) to take genuine ownership of the product as it continues to grow.

This isn't a traditional ticket-driven role. You'll be involved in understanding the problem, challenging requirements, making technical decisions, and taking features from idea through to production.

What you'll be doing

  • Build scalable backend services, APIs, and workflows.
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering to solve real customer problems.
  • Own features from design through to production.
  • Shape backend architecture, service boundaries, and data models.
  • Work across payments, reconciliation, reporting, and integrations.
  • Debug production issues and improve reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to technical direction and engineering standards.
  • Use AI-assisted development tools to improve development, testing, and code review.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
