Senior Product Engineer (AI) (OUTSIDE IR35)

Overview

We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer to join a team building innovative AI-powered digital products. You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering modern web applications, working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to create intelligent user experiences.

Duration: 6 Months
Location: London (Few days a month onsite)
Hours: 40 Hours Per Week
Start: ASAP

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript
  • Experience building and delivering AI-powered applications in production environments
  • Hands-on experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar)
  • Experience developing AI-driven features such as chatbots, copilots, AI assistants, workflow automation, or recommendation engines
  • Strong understanding of Prompt Engineering and AI API integration
  • Experience building scalable, reusable frontend applications and component libraries
  • State management experience with Redux, Zustand, or similar
  • Experience consuming REST APIs and third-party services
  • Strong understanding of performance, accessibility, testing, and modern engineering best practices
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile delivery environments

Desirable Skills

  • Next.js and Node.js experience
  • Experience with RAG architectures, vector databases, and semantic search solutions
  • Knowledge of LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, Semantic Kernel, or MCP
  • Experience building AI agents and agentic workflows
  • Exposure to Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI
  • Experience with Storybook, Design Systems, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
  • Understanding of AI governance, security, observability, and responsible AI practices

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and enhance AI-enabled digital products using React and modern JavaScript technologies
  • Design and deliver intuitive, user-focused experiences powered by AI
  • Integrate LLMs, AI services, and external APIs into customer-facing applications
  • Collaborate with Product and Design teams to shape product strategy and technical direction
  • Champion best practices across architecture, testing, performance, and code quality
  • Drive innovation through the adoption of emerging AI technologies

Requirements

  • Strong commercial React and TypeScript experience
  • Previous experience delivering modern, user-focused web applications
  • Exposure to AI technologies and LLM-powered solutions
  • UK work eligibility
