Senior Product Growth Engineer
First growth hire · AI chief of staff · London hybrid · £65k - £80k + equity
The Short Version:
This company is building an AI chief of staff for small business owners. It connects to the tools they already use, notices what they've committed to, and drafts the work they owe, like client updates, proposals, and reports, ready for them to approve. No prompting, no setup.
The founders have scaled well-known European SaaS companies before. Product and engineering are led by someone who spent ten years researching how people make decisions.
The product is live in beta. Nobody owns growth yet - that's this role.
What You'd Actually Do:
You're the first growth hire. You own whether people start using the product, keep using it, and bring their team in.
- Look at the funnel, find where people drop off, and work out why
- Decide what's worth testing, build it, ship it behind a flag, and read the result honestly, including when it didn't work
- Build the loop where one person pulls their team in. That's the core of how the product grows
- Build the nudges and re-engagement flows that bring quiet users back
- Keep the tracking clean enough that everyone trusts the numbers
- Ship small things fast: onboarding tweaks, empty states, buttons. Days, not sprints

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
It's roughly 70% building and 30% analysis. The funnel analysis already exists and runs automatically. The job is to act on it and improve it, not rebuild it from scratch.
What They're Looking For:
- You've shipped growth features at a B2B or prosumer product and can point to what moved
- You form a hypothesis before you build, and you can explain why you picked that problem first
- You write production TypeScript and React, and you query the data yourself in SQL
- You've run experiments with feature flags and owned the call on whether they worked
- You build with AI tools every day, like Claude Code or Cursor, but you think first and use them to go faster
- You don't need to be told what to do next
- Bonus: you've built and shipped something of your own
This Is Not For You If:
- You want a product manager to hand you a spec
- You'd rather write up the drop-off than build the fix
- You're a great engineer who has never formed a hypothesis about a user
- You open ChatGPT before you've thought about the problem yourself
- You need millions of users and perfect significance before you'll test anything
- You promise a 20% uplift without a reason behind it
- You need a stable roadmap. This one will change
- The package is the main reason you're looking

What They Can Offer:
- First growth hire, so you decide how growth works here
- Equity, early
- Founders who have scaled well-known SaaS companies before, and a product lead who takes experiments seriously
- A team that already A/B tests its own site properly, so you won't be convincing anyone that testing matters
What They Can't:
- Big-company pay. The salary is £65k - £80k
- A growth team around you. It's you
- Lots of traffic. It's early, so you'll often make calls with less data than you'd like
The Details:
- In the London office one to two days a week, the rest remote
- UK-based with the right to work in the UK. No visa sponsorship
- Full time, permanent, flexible hours
- Process: a call with Daisy, then a technical and product conversation, a practical working session, and a final chat with the founders
How To Apply:
Message me with one thing you shipped and how you knew it worked. I'll share the company and the full details from there.
