Senior Product Journey Owner – Business Banking Payments
About the Role
The Senior Product Journey Owner – Business Banking Payments leads the end-to-end payments journey across digital, branch, and assisted channels, ensuring experiences are:
- Simple
- Effective
- Compliant
- Aligned to business strategy
The role provides clear direction to cross-functional teams, including products, technology, operations, service design, risk, legal, and change, while balancing customer needs against commercial, operational, and regulatory priorities.
You’ll be accountable for defining ambitious ‘front-stage’ (customer) and ‘back-stage’ (colleague) experiences and outcomes, leveraging data and insights to continuously improve performance and shape truly differential experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive journey-led thinking across Business Banking (and beyond) to deliver exceptional payment experiences for businesses of all sizes across the UK.
- Ensure payment experiences support businesses in their ‘Everyday Banking’ and operational needs, fostering customer growth and retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align customer and colleague experiences with broader business strategy.
- Use data and insights to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Shape and deliver differential payment capabilities that enhance customer and business outcomes.

Hybrid Working Policy
Nationwide offers hybrid working wherever possible, balancing in-office collaboration with remote work.
- Mandatory working days (if full-time or part-time at 40%): minimum of two days per week based at either:
- London
- Northampton
- (or aligned to Glasgow or Edinburgh hubs as nearest location)
- If based in Glasgow or Edinburgh, regular monthly in-office collaboration events will be required.
