Role Overview
Locate a Locum’s mission and vision is to mobilise the world’s healthcare workforce, enabling delivery of the right person, to the right place at the right time - when it matters most.
Our product mission is to create simple solutions that deliver exceptional outcomes.
We are seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager who combines technical knowledge with complete product ownership. In this role, you won’t just manage tickets or passively collect feature requests, you will have complete end-to-end ownership over your assigned product domain - shaping solutions, defining technical boundaries, managing development workflows and driving high-impact outcomes that scale our platform.
How We Work in Product & Engineering
At Locate a Locum, we avoid bloated backlogs, endless two-week sprint treadmills, and mid-cycle interruptions. We believe in giving teams the focus and clarity needed to ship meaningful work consistently.
- Fixed Time, Variable Scope: We work in focused 6-week release cycles, bounded by a strict time budget. Instead of estimating how long a solution will take, we set an “appetite” - defining how much time an idea is worth and design the most suitable solution that provides value within that window.
- Up-Front Problem Shaping: Before committing development time, product managers work out-of-cycle to de-risk projects. You will define core user flows, solve structural technical questions and establish clear “no-gos” so build teams can hit the ground running.
- True Team Autonomy: Once a cycle kicks off, we hand complete responsibility to small, cross-functional teams (development and QA). We don’t micromanage tasks or assign tickets; we trust the team to execute the concept, make trade-offs, and deliver vertical, working slices of software early.
- Focus on Solved vs Unsolved: We measure real progress by evaluating what is known versus unknown, using visual tracking rather than arbitrary “percent complete” metrics or story points.
- Continual Check-Ins: Throughout the 6 week build cycle, development/product checkins allow progress updates, validation of the direction of the initial solution and highlighting and resolution of any risks that come to light during the implementation phase.
- Continual Improvement: Rather than cooldown periods to fix bugs or refactor code, we emphasise high quality delivery first time, with continual improvements to code and infrastructure throughout. This ensures that delivered projects are fully complete and signed off within the 6 week cycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

- Customer & Commercial Focus: Act as the voice of the customer. Combine user research, data analysis, and commercial awareness to ensure we build features that drive user adoption, retention and revenue growth.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Communicate product direction, solution boundaries, and release outcomes clearly across Senior Leadership, Sales, Customer Success and Operations.
