Job Description

Broadcom Software

Broadcom is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, and experienced Product Manager to join our Foundational and Open Solutions value stream within the Mainframe Software Division. In this role, you will be responsible for the success of our Open Mainframe Solutions, which include key technologies such as the Zowe API Mediation Layer, Zowe Command Line Interface, Visual Studio Code extension enabler use cases and others. Your work will directly empower customers to modernize, automate, and integrate their mainframe applications for improved business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategy & Vision: Drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Open Mainframe Solutions and Initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall Value Stream goals.
  • Stakeholder Advocacy: Serve as the primary intermediary between market/business requirements and R&D, advocating for Open Mainframe Initiatives both internally and externally.
  • Feature Prioritization: Partner with Product Owners and Architecture teams to prioritize features, translate customer needs into functional stories, and explore new opportunities, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
  • Roadblock Resolution: Proactively identify and remove roadblocks across cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality standards and timely delivery.
  • Market Leadership: Lead Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives to drive product adoption, measure success through key KPIs, and present product strategy to executive stakeholders (CXO level).
  • Customer Relationships: Maintain strong, healthy relationships with customers, partners, and software service providers to ensure long-term success and retention of value.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

  • Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Experience: 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or enterprise software development.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the mainframe software industry, Open Source projects, community initiatives, and current transformation trends.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of software solutions built on open technologies like Linux, GIT, Python and others.
  • Business Acumen: Advanced understanding of B2B business models, software licensing, and product delivery.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional, and cross-disciplinary projects, with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of successful executive-level presentations.
