Senior Product Manager

Edenred PayTech

Hybrid – Swindon, Wiltshire or Paddington, London

£75,000 - £85,000 + Annual Bonus

Objective of the Role/Function

The Paytech Nexus platform is the core processing platform for the Edenred group and processes over 1.5 billion transactions per year, in 30+ countries, over many different channels including open-loop card schemes, 80+ closed-loop card schemes, various funding channels and UK & SEPA bank payment rails. This capability is utilised by a diverse portfolio of financial programmes including fintech challenger banks, travel products, fuel products, employee benefits and retail gifting.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Product Manager with the equivalent domain Head in Technology, to lead a domain of Product Managers and Business Analysts to complete the transformation of compliance platforms, and the transformation to a modern data platform to enable the business strategy in navigating a challenging and evolving regulatory landscape in the UK & Europe.

Paytech are investing heavily to work with best-in-class partners to bring to market a comprehensive compliance offering, including:

  • Transaction monitoring for AML and reducing fraud
  • Screening of accountholders and payment counter parties
  • Driving financial crime operational efficiencies with a new tool to give a 360-accountholder view and case management processes.
  • Addressing regulatory reporting and audit demands on time

Paytech issue products for its agents under Paytech’s own e-money licence, overseen by the UK & Belgium regulators. Paytech also process transactions for clients who have their own e-money/banking licence.

This is an opportunity to be part of a fast-moving environment where key objectives include:

  • Management of the Compliance domain where PPS is undergoing a business transformation in terms of:
    • Transaction monitoring for fraud prevention and AML
    • Screening of accountholders (both users and businesses & UBOs) and payee & payers
    • Accountholder database as a centralise function for all cardholder records in terms KYC, screening outputs & risk scoring
    • 360view of accountholder and case management
  • Regulatory reporting where requirements can vary between regulators
  • Leading the product domain cross functional team from a business perspective
  • Responsible for leading innovation in the domain
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, clients, potentially regulators and internal departments to capture business requirements.
  • Prioritising the backlog with a focus on maximising value and adhering to regulations
  • Accountable to Head of Product – Compliance, Data & Finance

Responsible for 1-2 people

Experience & Knowledge Requirements

  • Must be a self-starter, to progress new features with the team without the need to be micro-managed or drip fed.
  • Takes the initiative and will actively find out missing details or unblock issues without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Prioritise product domain backlogs and ensure wider strategic deliverable are completed on time
  • Designing standard functionality wherever possible and considering the wider needs (rather than a single client)
  • Experience of working closely with Business Analysts and Developers in a collaborative way
  • Experience with procuring and managing third party products
  • Experience of operational process improvements
  • Driving and owning new solutions & continuous improvement
  • Familiar with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Can assess & carry out data analysis to make better informed decisions.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities against deadlines

Key Result Areas

  • Product domains meet the wider needs of clients to facilitate the move away from the legacy platform
  • Deliverables are operationally supportable, secure and scalable
  • Driving continuous improvements across the product domains and solving pain points

Key Tasks

  • Be the business point of contact for the specified compliance sub-domains.
  • Working with the product domain cross functional teams to:
    • Capture and document clear user stories or standard feature overview
    • Capture estimates for roadmap and sprint planning
    • Prioritise the backlog to deliver and a focus on adding value to the business
    • Package the service for in terms materials for clients, operations and client delivery team to roll out the feature
    • Where required support and address impediments outside of the team
    • Give the development teams clear business context and measurable business objectives to motivate and get but in to deliver on time
  • Rationalising the business case to prioritise the backlog in line with Paytech’s strategy, including:
    • New features
    • Fixing or optimising existing elements
    • Operational improvements including security, monitoring and visibility into the health and behaviour of the domain.
  • Understand business cases and be able to arbitrate between requests, challenging where appropriate with relevant data
  • Support other team members to achieve company objectives along with promoting a positive collaborative atmosphere.
  • Ensuring budgets are kept under control including 3rd party suppliers.
  • Independently managing the implementation of requirements from shaping through to build, acceptance testing and rollout end-to-end
  • Monitor development delivery while identifying, challenging and overcoming delays and obstacles
  • Removing impediments and minimizing disruption to maximise development efficiency
  • Planning, effort estimations, and status reporting

Additional Information

Paytech currently operates a hybrid working model between home and office working. Paytech have offices in London, Swindon, Brussels, Bucharest and Mexico City. The role may occasionally require travel between offices in the UK, Europe (potentially 1-3 days), International travel may exceptionally be required, (3-5 days in duration)
