TGS | 4C provides research, datasets, subscription intelligence platforms and analysis for offshore renewable energy and related marine sectors.

The Senior Product Manager, Customer & Data Products

Collaborates on strategy, prioritisation and performance for the non-GIS customer and data product portfolio.

The role combines product strategy, customer experience leadership and portfolio management while coaching less experienced product practitioners.

Product strategy and portfolio management

  • Contribute market evidence, customer insights and business priorities to the non-GIS product portfolio strategy.
  • Identify customer decisions, workflows and opportunities that products should support.
  • Recommend investment priorities, sequencing, consolidation, pricing, packaging and retirement decisions using customer, commercial and delivery evidence.
  • Prioritise product initiatives to maximise customer value and commercial outcomes.

  • Lead customer discovery, workflow mapping, concept testing and post-launch learning initiatives.
  • Define measurable customer and business outcomes to guide product investment decisions.
  • Own and improve priority workflows for discovering, analysing, monitoring and sharing non-GIS intelligence.
  • Collaborate on information architecture, navigation, search, filtering, confidence indicators, exports, saved work and GIS transitions.
  • Partner with Product Design so customer needs influence product direction from an early stage.

Data products and commercial value

  • Define target users, use cases, quality expectations, packaging and lifecycle approaches for priority data and intelligence products.
  • Establish standards for data freshness, completeness, coverage, provenance and confidence.
  • Work with Research SMEs, Data Analysts and Engineering teams to translate specialist expertise into scalable product capabilities.
  • Evaluate product performance using customer feedback, product usage, quality metrics, win/loss analysis, renewals and commercial data.

Operating model and capability development

  • Strengthen product management practices relating to discovery, prioritisation, analytics, roadmaps and post-launch reviews.
  • Maintain roadmap integrity and clear accountability for significant product initiatives.
  • Coach less experienced product practitioners and develop product management capability.
  • Collaborate with the GIS Product Lead while maintaining clear ownership boundaries across portfolios.
  • Promote evidence-based decision-making, customer focus and continuous improvement.

Essential Experience

Significant product management experience within B2B software, data, analytics, intelligence services or information-based products.
