LEADING GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY COMPANY · CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Senior Product Manager / Programme Manager

DAY RATE: Competitive DOE
IR35: Outside
DURATION: 6 months+
LOCATION: UK / Europe
START: ASAP
ENGAGEMENT: Rolling

THE COMPANY

Our Client

Our client is a leading global provider of technical and creative services to the media and gaming industries, supporting over 50 of the world's top 100 game developers and publishers. With operations across Europe, North America, and Asia, they deliver end-to-end solutions spanning art production, engineering, localisation, quality assurance, and intelligent tooling.

Their technology centre is a growing hub of product and engineering excellence, building next-generation AI-powered media tooling that serves some of the most demanding production pipelines in games — and this contract sits at its core.

THE ENGAGEMENT

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be engaged as the primary delivery and governance owner for the client's media tooling programme — operating at the intersection of product strategy, engineering coordination, and senior stakeholder management across a globally distributed organisation.

This is a senior individual contributor engagement that demands both the product sensibility to own and evolve a technical roadmap and the programme discipline to govern delivery against it. Sprint cadence, risk registers, release planning, structured executive reporting — you own all of it.

The role requires someone equally comfortable translating ambiguous business requirements into precise engineering briefs and presenting delivery status to C-suite audiences. Experience managing offshore or distributed engineering teams is a material advantage, as is a background in gaming, media technology, or developer tooling.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What You'll Own

  • Own the product roadmap for the platform — define prioritisation frameworks, manage the backlog, and direct engineering effort toward the highest-value outcomes.
  • Lead sprint planning and backlog refinement, working closely with the Senior Engineering Lead to decompose requirements into well-scoped, estimable engineering tasks.
  • Maintain and publish governance artefacts — delivery status reports, risk registers, RAID logs, and release notes — to the standards expected by a listed enterprise.
  • Serve as the primary interface between the engineering team and global stakeholders, translating business requirements into engineering briefs and engineering outputs into clear stakeholder communication.
  • Own release planning and release gate management, coordinating QA sign-off, deployment readiness, and stakeholder communication for each software release.
  • Identify, document, and actively manage programme risks and dependencies, escalating issues in a structured and timely manner.
  • Facilitate structured requirements-gathering sessions with internal clients, producing written specifications the engineering team can build against.
  • Define and maintain delivery KPIs and quality metrics, reporting against them on a regular cadence.
  • Manage the programme budget and resource plan where delegated, maintaining accurate forecasts and flagging variances promptly.
  • Drive the team's continuous improvement culture — facilitate retrospectives, document process improvements, and ensure adoption of agreed changes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Demonstrable end-to-end enterprise software delivery from requirements definition through to production release.

  • Documentation discipline: roadmaps, risk registers, RAID logs, status reports, and release notes to a professional standard.
  • Proven ability to translate complex business requirements into engineering-ready specifications, and engineering outputs into clear stakeholder communication.
  • Experience within globally distributed teams, managing time-zone complexity and asynchronous communication.

Advantageous

  • Formal delivery framework qualification: SAFe, PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent — or demonstrable practical experience.
  • Background in gaming, media technology, developer tooling, or AI/ML product delivery.
  • Experience managing offshore or nearshore engineering delivery teams, with formal governance reporting to onshore programme sponsors.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML product development cycles — model evaluation, dataset management, iterative deployment.
  • Exposure to listed-company or regulated enterprise environments with formal governance obligations.

BEHAVIOURAL PROFILE

How You Operate

  • Communicates with precision and professionalism at all levels — from sprint stand-up to executive delivery briefing — adapting depth and tone to the audience.
  • Treats delivery documentation as a core professional obligation. Artefacts are living governance assets, not one-time outputs.
  • Builds trusted relationships with engineering, design, and architecture counterparts through reliability, clarity, and consistent follow-through.
  • Surfaces issues early, escalates appropriately, and maintains delivery momentum through ambiguity. Structured, evidence-based decision-making.
  • Operates with the governance rigour, commercial awareness, and professional discipline expected of a senior delivery owner in a global listed technology company.
