Candidates will need proven experience of operating within a regulated lending environment, with a strong working knowledge of MCOB, Consumer Duty and product governance

A well-established bank with a growing lending franchise is seeking a Senior Product Manager to take strategic ownership of its mortgage and regulated lending propositions. This is a high-profile role within the Product & Proposition function, reporting directly to the Head of Product & Proposition.

You will own the strategic roadmap for regulated lending products and the client journeys that sit around them, from proposition design through to servicing, retention and collections. This is a role for someone who can balance commercial performance with fair value and good client outcomes, while holding the regulatory framework together across MCOB, Consumer Duty affordability and vulnerability expectations, conduct risk and T&C.

Working cross-functionally with Credit Risk, Underwriting, Compliance, Operations and Technology, you will act as the senior subject matter expert for mortgage and regulated lending products across regulatory, operational, conduct and customer dimensions.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Product Ownership: own the strategic roadmap for mortgage and regulated lending products, leading the design, enhancement and optimisation of propositions, processes and digital capabilities.
  • Client Outcomes: ensure products and lending journeys deliver fair value, good client outcomes and appropriate client support throughout the lifecycle.
  • Product Governance: oversee new product approvals, product reviews, pricing changes, policy alignment and product withdrawal considerations.
  • Change Delivery: drive regulatory, operational and strategic change initiatives through agile and governance frameworks.
  • Performance Monitoring: monitor product performance through MI, customer insight, arrears trends, complaints data, conduct indicators, operational metrics and commercial measures.
  • Credit Risk Partnership: partner with Credit Risk and Underwriting to align risk appetite, lending policy, operational execution and customer experience.
  • Journey Optimisation: support optimisation of onboarding, affordability assessment, servicing, retention and collections processes.
  • Controls & Resilience: ensure operational processes and supporting systems remain robust, scalable, resilient and compliant with regulatory expectations.
  • Third Party Management: manage relationships with third party providers, intermediaries, valuation partners, legal suppliers and technology vendors supporting the lending proposition.
  • Digital Agenda: support automation, workflow optimisation and improved client self-service capability.
  • Training & Competence: maintain oversight of T&C arrangements for regulated lending activities, ensuring colleagues maintain appropriate accreditation and regulatory competence, working in partnership with Compliance, Risk and operational leadership.
  • Conduct & Quality: monitor conduct, client outcomes, QA findings, complaints trends and regulatory developments to identify training needs and drive improvements in colleague capability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
