Senior Product Manager – Public Sector
Remote working with occasional travel to Manchester, Sheffield & Blackpool when required
Up to £500 per day – Inside IR35
Active SC Clearance required
We're looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to support a major UK Government department delivering critical digital services at scale. This is a strategic yet hands-on product leadership role, requiring someone who can navigate complex stakeholder environments, shape product direction, and drive delivery across multidisciplinary agile teams. You'll work closely with business, policy, delivery and technical teams to define product vision, prioritise outcomes and ensure services deliver real value to users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the vision, strategy and roadmap for complex digital products and services.
- Work with stakeholders to understand business goals, user needs and policy requirements.
- Facilitate discovery, ideation and prioritisation workshops to shape product direction.
- Manage and prioritise product backlogs, ensuring teams focus on the highest-value outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional agile teams through product delivery and continuous improvement.
- Drive alignment across senior stakeholders, delivery teams and technical specialists.
- Define and communicate product objectives, priorities and success measures.
- Identify risks, dependencies and delivery challenges, taking action to maintain momentum.
- Champion user-centred design principles and data-driven decision making.
- Support and mentor colleagues, helping to build high-performing product teams.

We're Looking for Someone With:
- Significant Product Management experience across the full product lifecycle.
- Strong experience working within UK Government or wider Public Sector environments.
- A proven track record of leading complex digital products in agile delivery environments.
- Experience delivering services aligned to GOV.UK Service Standards and GDS principles.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
- Experience defining product visions, MVPs, roadmaps and success measures.
- An excellent understanding of agile delivery, software development and user-centred design.
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience bringing together diverse stakeholder groups to achieve consensus.
- The ability to balance user needs, business priorities and technical constraints.
- Experience coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of others.

- Experience delivering large-scale citizen-facing digital services.
- Familiarity with complex transformation programmes and service modernisation initiatives.
