Help us build the Homeownership category in fintech.
Tembo is one of the UK's fastest-growing fintechs, helping people save for, buy and own a home. Hundreds of thousands of customers already use Tembo to save and plan for their future, while our mortgage business has grown into one of the UK's leading digital brokers, voted the UK's Best Mortgage Broker five years in a row.
Today, our app is predominantly a savings experience, with mortgages integrated into the journey. We're now bringing those strengths together to build the defining financial platform for homeownership: helping customers save, understand what they can afford, get mortgage-ready, buy their home and make smarter financial decisions throughout homeownership.
We're looking for an exceptional Senior Product Manager to own our Savings app and play a major role in making that happen.
This is a high-accountability individual contributor role.
You'll have genuine ownership of one of Tembo's most important product areas, working directly with our founders and alongside engineering, design, data, marketing and commercial teams.
You'll be expected to make meaningful product bets, move quickly and be accountable for the outcomes. You'll own the Savings experience we have today while helping define what it becomes next, including how we bring Savings and Mortgages closer together and use AI to deliver personalised homeownership guidance at scale.
The opportunity
You'll take ownership of a significant consumer product already used by hundreds of thousands of customers, spanning our Lifetime ISA, Cash ISA and HomeSaver® - our market-leading and unique savings product built specifically around homeownership.
But this role is about much more than optimising the Savings product we have today.
You'll help answer some of the biggest product questions at Tembo:
- How do we help customers understand whether they're on track to buy a home?
- How do we connect saving and getting mortgage-ready into one seamless journey?
- How can AI give every customer genuinely useful, personalised guidance on what they should do next?
- What new products and experiences should we build that don't exist today?

What you'll do
- Own the Savings product. Take accountability for its strategy, roadmap, customer experience and commercial performance.
- Make meaningful product bets. Identify opportunities that can materially change growth, engagement or customer outcomes and build the conviction to pursue them.
- Shape our Homeownership strategy. Help define how Savings, Mortgages and new experiences come together into a more powerful consumer proposition.
- Shape our consumer AI strategy. Identify where AI can fundamentally improve the way we guide customers and turn those opportunities into real products.
- Drive growth and engagement. Find ways to help more customers choose Tembo, save more with us and engage more deeply with the product.
- Set the direction. Identify the problems worth solving and make clear prioritisation decisions rather than managing a pre-defined backlog.
- Lead cross-functionally. Bring engineering, design, data, marketing and commercial teams together around clear customer problems and outcomes.
- Get close to customers and data. Build conviction through customer insight, behavioural data and commercial performance.
- Move quickly and learn. Take ideas from ambiguous problems through discovery, validation, build and launch, then iterate based on what actually happens.
- Own the outcome. Success isn't shipping the roadmap. It's delivering measurable impact for our customers and the business.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a senior product person who wants ownership rather than management.
You'll likely have:
- Significant experience building and scaling consumer-facing digital products.
- A track record of owning meaningful product areas and delivering measurable customer and commercial outcomes.
- Experience making significant product bets, not just optimising an existing roadmap.
- Excellent product judgement and a strong instinct for what makes a brilliant consumer experience.
- The ability to take ambiguous problems, form a strong point of view and turn that into action.
- Strong analytical instincts and confidence using data to make decisions.
- Experience working closely with engineering and design teams from discovery through to delivery.
- A strong point of view on how AI is changing consumer products and the curiosity to turn new capabilities into experiences customers genuinely value.
- Strong commercial thinking and an understanding of the relationship between customer value and business value.
- The confidence to challenge founders and senior stakeholders, while knowing when to make a decision, commit and execute.

Experience in fintech, savings, investing or mortgages would be useful, but it isn't essential. We're more interested in people who have built brilliant consumer products and can bring that experience to Tembo.
What this role isn't
This isn't a role where you'll be handed requirements and asked to manage a delivery backlog.
And it isn't a people-management role. Seniority here comes from scope, judgement and accountability, not the number of Product Managers reporting to you. We're looking for someone who wants to be close to the product, customers and data, make difficult decisions and be on the hook for whether they work.
