Senior Product Manager – D365 F&O
Salary: Up to £100,000 per annum
Location: Ipswich
Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite per week

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Product Manager to take ownership of their finance technology landscape, with a particular focus on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O).
You will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and ongoing improvement of finance systems, while working closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure technology solutions support wider business objectives.
The role will involve managing and coaching a small team of technical analysts, leading cross-functional teams and working with business stakeholders, technology teams and external vendors.
You will also play a key role in identifying opportunities to make better use of D365 and associated technologies to improve efficiency, productivity and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Product Management
- Lead Product Councils, ensuring cross-functional representation from business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive product roadmaps and project plans, including timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Track project progress, manage risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery.
- Coordinate with development, QA and other teams to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Work with all areas of the business to identify and prioritise product features and enhancements that drive efficiencies, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, cost reduction, productivity and profitability.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities and potential threats.
- Ensure product goals are aligned with business and technology strategy.

Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact between the product team and stakeholders.
- Communicate product roadmaps, project status, risks and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
- Gather and prioritise requirements to ensure product alignment with business goals.
- Identify and manage vendor relationships supporting the continuous development, maintenance and security of finance platforms.
Team Coordination
- Lead and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives within Agile environments.
- Ensure effective collaboration and communication across teams.
Quality Assurance
- Ensure products meet required quality standards before launch.
- Work closely with QA teams to define and implement testing strategies.
- Oversee the resolution of issues and bugs identified during testing.
Process Improvement
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance product delivery efficiency.
- Analyse and report on delivery performance using metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay up to date with industry best practice and incorporate this into the delivery process.
- Develop and maintain product documentation, release notes and technical documentation.
Budget Management
- Manage project budgets and ensure expenditure remains within approved limits.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, identifying and addressing variances.
Customer Focus
- Ensure product delivery aligns with customer needs and expectations.
- Gather and analyse customer feedback to inform future product development.
- Collaborate with customer support teams to address post-launch issues.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong knowledge of finance systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O).
- Experience with finance system configuration, customisation and administration.
- Knowledge of database management and workflow management.
- Familiarity with integration platforms and APIs connecting D365 with other enterprise systems.
- Understanding of SaaS, COTS and cloud-based technologies.
- Proven track record of delivering complex product roadmaps and projects on time and within budget.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello or MS Project.
Desirable
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in product management, project management or a related role.
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile/Scrum certification.
