Senior Product Operations Manager, Global Payroll

About the role

Global Payroll operates at a critical inflection: between product strategy, go-to-market execution, and operational reality. It's one of Deel's highest-leverage functions, touching sales, support, and customers across 150+ countries.

We're hiring a Senior POM to own the feedback loop. You'll be the connective tissue between customer-facing teams and product, synthesizing raw, often contradictory feedback into clear signals that matter. You'll move fast in ambiguity, handle operational load (automation, third-party integrations, config work), and know exactly which decisions you own versus which you escalate.

You'll work across a geographic region (EMEA or APAC) with timezone coverage that lets you focus sustainably. No weekly standups on what you're doing. No handholding. Just real autonomy and access to smart people when you need context.

What you'll do

  • Own the customer-feedback-to-product loop. You're the wedge between sales, support, and product. You synthesize messy feedback, figure out what's a real gap versus noise, and feed clear signals to PMs. You close the loop by making sure what ships actually lands with the teams that sell it.
  • Move from ambiguity to clarity. You navigate across teams with different priorities, hold detail, ask clarifying questions, and come back with a crisp answer. You don't let vague requests stay vague.
  • Handle operational work with judgment and automation. Payroll generates constant operational load. You'll use AI (Akai, Claude) to automate parts of it, but you'll know when to step in and apply judgment. You understand our product deeply enough to distinguish between a product gap, a documentation issue, and a third-party limitation.
  • Own your regional perspective. Different geographies have different customer bases, regulatory regimes, and payroll complexity. You'll know your region's landscape and surface patterns that matter to product and exec leadership.
  • Maintain discipline without being micromanaged. You'll have clarity on decision rights. Reversible decisions, you own. High-stakes decisions, you escalate. You won't need to check in before moving. You'll have real people available when you need context—just not surveillance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years in product operations, customer success ops, or feedback-to-product workflows. You've synthesized messy input into clear product signals. You've stood between teams with conflicting priorities and made it work.
  • Resourcefulness as a north star trait. You see a blocker and you go solve it. Not by delegating, not by asking permission. You figure out who has what you need and you get it done. You're comfortable taking a customer problem, talking to multiple teams, and coming back with a path forward.
  • Self-directed decision-making with clarity on scope. You thrive with autonomy. You don't need to be told what to do. You dig, you validate, and you come back with a point of view. You make calls with incomplete information and learn from them.
  • Deep product knowledge. Not PM expertise, but enough to answer feature questions accurately. You know what's possible and what's not, and why. When an edge case surfaces, you can triangulate the answer.
  • Data fluency. You pull your own analysis. You don't wait for someone else to tell you what the data says. You're comfortable with SQL, spreadsheets, and analytics platforms.
  • Sustained pressure tolerance. This role lives in real time. You handle daily operational load without losing sight of patterns. You're impatient with process and you bias toward action, but you don't confuse motion with progress.

Nice-to-have

  • Payroll operations or finance ops background. Experience in operationally complex, customer-facing environments.

Role expectations

  • You self-direct like a founder. You move with sustained focus. You navigate ambiguity without getting lost. You back your thinking with data. You communicate with clarity and you're impatient with vagueness. You operate across geographies and bring regional context to global conversations.
