Job requirements
In your role as Senior Product Owner, you will work closely with the Propositions Manager, Lead PO and Implementations Leader on the future product strategy and roadmap for our Digital Products.
You will make sure about our roadmaps, prioritising features with greatest business value and supporting the business in realising the expected benefits from software development.
It has three key components to it which are explained in more detail below:
- Being a Product Owner (likely 50% of the time) and leading by example with their interactions with Business Leaders / Technology / Implementations
- Collaborate with Product Owners and senior stakeholders to deliver the development of our integrated vision and strategy for Pension Administration applications across Aptia.
- Lead a team of Product Owners / Analysts both technically (standards, Agile ways of working and problem solving) and people leadership (people development, recruitment, performance management)

This is a hybrid position where you will work from any of our UK Aptia offices (London or Chichester preferred), as well as from your home address.
Here's what you'll be doing:
- Partner with key stakeholders to help define product strategy and prioritise the roadmap, managing any feature trade off discussions.
- Prioritise roadmap based on value and delivering a stable, compliant product, including business features and technical debt
- Defining and overseeing delivery of applications development roadmap and full product lifecycle for assigned products (OneView, Contact Aptia Pensions and Mobile App
- Develop and embed a culture of ownership and delivery within your team of Product Owners / Implementation Analysts.
- Ensure the quality of the deliverables meets the required quality criteria and is delivered to time and within budget across the Product suite.
- Lead the team responsible for customer deliveries, configuration and product support activities
- Define and implement an effective competency framework with KPIs and a reporting framework which will measure your team’s performance.
- Develop technical capability of teams by identifying any skills gaps, resource requirements and learning opportunities
- Ensure appropriate MI and controls exist to govern quality and accuracy of deliverables (roadmap and technical).
- systems and tools are in place to ensure effective delivery including resourcing, capability and capacity management.
- standards and quality assurance procedures are followed in development of all deliverables.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering and other departments towards resolution of business as usual issues and delivery of strategic improvements.
- Management of stakeholders, working with teams across multiple locations and departments.
- Management of 3rd-party supplier relationships.

Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience within the Employee Benefits and/or Life & Pensions industries.
- IT project management experience.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining internal relationships across different departments and different countries
- Technical development experience with a proven track record of delivery and exceeding business objectives.
- Experience of working within a commercial environment undergoing major change.
- Proven track record of delivery through prioritisation of resources and workload to achieve critical deadlines and business priorities.
- Experience of leading and managing teams across multiple sites.
- Experience of working with off-shore teams and 3rd-party suppliers.
- Experience in negotiation and conflict resolution.
- Proven track record of senior stakeholder management.
