Senior Product Owner / Product Manager – Order Management & Fulfilment
Contract: 6 months initial
IR35: Outside IR35
Location: London – Hybrid, 2-3 days per week onsite
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Owner / Product Manager to join a major retail commerce transformation programme, focused on modernising Order Management, Order Orchestration, Sourcing and Fulfilment capabilities.
This is a senior, hands-on Product role requiring strong OMS and retail/eCommerce domain knowledge. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects and engineering teams to translate business operations and requirements into a clear product roadmap and deliverable backlog.
The environment is based around a modern MACH architecture, including Fluent Commerce and Commercetools.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the product roadmap and backlog across Order Management, Order Orchestration, Sourcing and Fulfilment.
- Map business requirements and existing operational processes into product capabilities and delivery requirements.
- Lead discovery sessions and workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
- Define and prioritise epics, features, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Shape the product roadmap and ensure it remains aligned with programme delivery plans.
- Manage scope, priorities, dependencies and change requests throughout delivery.
- Define sourcing strategies, inventory allocation rules and fulfilment optimisation across distribution centres, stores, suppliers and marketplaces.
- Manage dependencies across Commerce, Checkout, OMS, Inventory, Fulfilment, Payments and Customer Service.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture and QA teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Lead and coordinate a small product team of 2–3 team members based in India.
- Support PI Planning, Sprint Planning, backlog refinement and release planning.
- Manage senior stakeholders and clearly communicate roadmap, priorities, risks and delivery progress.
- Support delivery across multiple markets and retail banners.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 8+ years' experience within Product Management / Product Ownership, ideally within Retail, eCommerce or Order Management.
- Strong hands-on experience with Order Management Systems (OMS).
- Deep understanding of Order Orchestration, Order Lifecycle, Order Sourcing and Post-Purchase journeys.
- Strong knowledge of retail fulfilment models including Click & Collect, Home Delivery, Marketplace and Drop Ship Vendor (DSV).
- Experience defining sourcing strategies, inventory allocation rules and fulfilment optimisation.
- Strong experience owning and managing product roadmaps, scope and backlogs.
- Proven ability to translate business operations and requirements into technology/product capabilities.
- Experience managing complex cross-platform dependencies and integrations.
- Strong experience within distributed commerce and highly integrated retail ecosystems.
- Excellent workshop facilitation, stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
- Strong Agile delivery experience including PI Planning, Sprint Planning and Release Management.
- Experience delivering large-scale, multi-market or multi-banner retail programmes.
- Experience working with Jira and Confluence.

Highly Desirable
- Fluent Commerce OMS experience.
- Commercetools or another MACH-based commerce platform.
- Strong understanding of MACH architecture.
- OMS migration or modernisation experience.
- Legacy commerce / ATG replacement programmes.
- Inventory, stock visibility and allocation services.
- Retail sourcing and fulfilment transformation programmes.
- Experience using AI within Product Management.
The Profile We're Looking For
This is not primarily an OMS Developer or Solution Architect position.
We need someone with strong technical and OMS understanding who is fundamentally a Product Owner / Product Manager and can:
- Understand and map current business operations.
- Gather, challenge and prioritise requirements.
- Own the product backlog and roadmap.
- Manage stakeholders, scope and change requests.
- Translate business needs into clear deliverables for engineering teams.
- Drive the product through discovery, planning and delivery.
