Who We Are

Join BAE Systems and you’ll be part of something bigger. As a valued member of our global colleague network, you’ll bring your unique skills and perspectives to help pioneer progress and protect what matters most. You’ll be trusted to play your part in delivering the advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace and security solutions of tomorrow – shaping a safer future, for all of us.

Role Description

As a Product Safety Engineer, you will provide pan platform and cross functional safety engineering support across the FalconWorks portfolio, ensuring system safety and certification requirements are effectively integrated from the earliest stages of platform and system design.

Working closely with engineering and technical teams, you will help shape safe, compliant and robust solutions throughout the product lifecycle.

You will evaluate platform, system and sub-system designs, supporting safety certification activities and assessing safety risks as programmes mature. The role includes generating, updating and reviewing safety engineering deliverables, providing expert guidance to project teams, and ensuring safety considerations remain at the heart of engineering decision making from concept through to delivery.

Core Duties

  • Collaborate with Technical and Engineering teams to ensure system safety and safety certification requirements are embedded within platform architecture and design during the early lifecycle phases
  • Evaluate platform, system and sub-system designs, providing robust safety engineering support throughout the engineering lifecycle and certification process
  • Generate, review and maintain system safety engineering deliverables and certification evidence, ensuring compliance with design airworthiness requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments, applying strong analytical skills and sound engineering judgement to identify hazards and validate mitigation actions
  • Manage, communicate and report residual risks, product integrity issues and corrective actions through to closure
  • Assess customer design deviations and determine appropriate recovery or remediation pathways where required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
