Job Title: Senior Production and Supply Manager
Salary: £45,100 – £60,400
Location: Cambridge, UK - Hybrid (at least 2-3 days per week in the office)
Contract: Fixed-term, 15 months
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

You will be responsible for managing our list of new and existing publications and ensuring they reach our enthusiastic customers worldwide.
About The Role
As Production Manager and Demand Planner, Bibles, you will play a pivotal role in delivering one of Cambridge's most distinctive publishing programmes. You will oversee the production, demand planning and global distribution of our Bible and Prayer Book portfolio, ensuring products are delivered on schedule, within budget and to the exceptional quality standards for which Cambridge is renowned. Working closely with colleagues across publishing, marketing, supply chain and external supplier partners, you will contribute to the continued success and growth of this specialist publishing area.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing the production and demand planning of Cambridge's globally recognised Bible and Prayer Book publishing programme.
- Delivering a portfolio of approximately 160-180 active titles, ensuring publications, reprints and rebinding projects are completed on schedule, within budget and to agreed quality standards.
- Analysing sales, stock and supply chain data to support production planning, forecasting and inventory decisions.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with global printers, binders, designers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Managing publication schedules, manufacturing activities and stock distribution across international markets.
- Providing specialist production expertise to support product development, editorial, marketing and commercial initiatives.
- Driving continuous improvement across systems, workflows and production processes.
- Acting as a key member of the Bibles publishing team, contributing to operational planning and decision-making.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Supporting sustainable production practices and representing the Bibles list within relevant environmental initiatives.
- Reviewing and managing product samples and archive materials.
- Maintaining knowledge of SAP and related production planning systems.
- Participating in demand planning and production working groups.
- Supporting stock transfers and product movement across global sales locations.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. About You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines in a publishing, production or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of print production processes, including typesetting, proofreading, design and manufacturing workflows.
- Experience using SAP or similar enterprise planning systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- A collaborative and adaptable approach, with a willingness to learn specialist production techniques and processes.

- Creative flair and/or design experience would be welcome
- Knowledge of craft and book binding techniques would be helpful.
- Understanding of the Bible publishing market;
- Understanding of the history of the Bible and 1662 BCP Prayer Book and how they are used by customers would come in useful - but not essential.
