Senior Production Artist - Homebased - Mexico

The Senior Production Artist is a highly skilled production and layout specialist responsible for developing, formatting, and delivering complex scientific communications materials, with a primary focus on high-volume scientific poster production for medical congresses. This role serves as a subject matter expert in scientific poster production and production workflows, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, consistency, and compliance across all deliverables. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Senior Production Artist provides technical expertise, production guidance, and innovative solutions while supporting studio-wide production initiatives, print-ready file packaging, and process improvements in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Lead the production, formatting, and layout of scientific posters, clinical trial deliverables, and other scientific communications materials utilizing expert-level Adobe InDesign skills.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Prepare, review, and package final production files for print and digital distribution, including preflight checks and release activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive quality control reviews to ensure compliance with client, regulatory, editorial, and congress-specific requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to provide technical expertise, production guidance, and solutions to complex formatting challenges.
  • Serve as a production subject matter expert while driving process improvements through the development and maintenance of InDesign templates, libraries, style sheets, workflows, quality standards, and production best practices.

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of experience as a Production Artist, Senior Production Artist, or in a related production-focused role with experience within pharmaceutical, healthcare, medical communications, scientific publishing, or agency environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience producing high-volume scientific posters, figure redraws, and other scientific communications deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign and advanced working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat) including complex document formatting, style sheets, templates, and production workflows.
  • Advanced knowledge of print production, file preparation, quality assurance processes, and release packaging activities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in scientific poster production, complex document formatting, and publication-ready deliverables; flexibility to support occasional evening and weekend work during peak congress periods.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve production, formatting, and quality issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and client groups.
