Senior Production Controller | Children’s Publishing | London | Permanent

Our Partner
Our partner is a well-established and highly regarded publishing business, known for producing high-quality illustrated and commercial titles for a global audience. With a strong reputation for creativity and innovation, they work closely with international suppliers and internal teams to bring products to market efficiently, while maintaining excellent production standards and continuously improving processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end production of a defined list of titles, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
- Negotiate pricing, schedules, and specifications with suppliers to achieve best value and efficiency.
- Oversee reprographics workflows, including artwork, files, and proofs, coordinating across internal teams and external partners.
- Maintain accurate costing data, raise purchase orders, and manage invoice reconciliation and approvals.
- Support, train, and develop junior team members while also deputising for senior leadership when required.

Experience and Skills that Will Deliver Success in This Role
The right candidate will be an organised and proactive production professional with strong experience managing complex print products and supplier relationships. You will be confident working autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Essential
- Proven experience in print production, including reprographics and safety testing processes.
- Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Clear and confident communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, particularly with data, costing, and scheduling.
Desirable
- Experience training or mentoring junior team members.
- Familiarity with freight, shipping processes, and logistics coordination.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to streamline workflows and processes.
