Our client in Burton Upon Trent is going through a rapid period of growth and are now seeking an experienced Senior Production / Manufacturing Engineer to take ownership of production test & development capability and drive continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on role focused on test equipment, process improvement, fault-finding, and supporting the introduction of new products into production.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the production test laboratory.
- Maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving production test equipment.
- Using CAD to design and develop test rigs, fixtures, jigs, and manufacturing tooling.
- Supporting root cause investigations and resolving production test failures.
- Developing new test methods and improving existing test processes.
- Supporting new product introduction and production readiness activities.
- Providing technical support for electro-mechanical assembly and manufacturing teams.
- Assisting with automation, data capture, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, work instructions, and test procedures.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant experience as a Production Engineer, Test Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Production Development Engineer, Electro-Mechanical Engineer or a similar role.
- Strong electro-mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills to validate new materials for all company products whilst undertaking various environment testing.
- Experience maintaining and improving production test equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
- Experience designing or modifying test rigs, fixtures, and production tooling.
- Familiarity with test equipment
- The ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- A practical, hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to drive due to company location.
