The Role:

Studio XAG is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Production Manager to lead our production team in executing exceptional projects. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, from planning and procurement to scheduling and execution, ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of materials, production processes, and team management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning and execution of multiple production projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget
  • Develop and communicate accurate production timelines, ensuring seamless coordination of in-house and outsourced resources
  • Efficiently allocate and schedule production staff and freelance fabricators to meet project demands
  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring efficient sourcing of materials, supplies, and packaging essentials for production
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, makers, and freelancers, contributing to an expanding network of trusted production partners
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety (H&S) regulations and risk assessment management (RAMS)
  • Maintain rigorous quality control standards across all production outputs
  • Stay up-to-date with new materials, suppliers, and production processes to drive innovation
  • Support workshop operations by ensuring fabrication timelines align with production goals
  • Manage key administrative tasks, including purchase orders (POs), supplier communication, and timesheet approvals
  • Implement and improve workflow efficiency, identifying opportunities for innovation and enhanced productivity

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years experience in a similar role within a production, workshop, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of materials, production processes, and assembly techniques
  • Expertise in production coordination, scheduling, and procurement
  • Experience in cost estimation and budgeting for medium to large-scale production projects
  • Familiarity with Synergist software or other costing/project management tools (desirable)
  • Strong administrative skills, including creating purchase orders, tracking expenses, and updating schedules
  • Health & Safety knowledge, including RAMS documentation and compliance procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting production challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and freelancers

Tools & Software Knowledge:

  • Project Management Software (e.g., Synergist, Asana, Trello)
  • Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Gmail)
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Basic knowledge of documentation and presentation)
  • Production & Fabrication Tools (Familiarity with workshop tools and CNC machinery is a plus)

Salary:

£45,000-60,000 per annum. Please state expectations on application.

Location:

This role is based in our East London studio in E10. Our normal working hours are 9am - 6pm but flexible working hours are available.
