Senior Production Manager

Christchurch | up to £70,000 DOE

We are partnering with an established engineering manufacturer to appoint a Senior Production Manager.

This is an opportunity for someone who can operate at senior leadership level while remaining highly visible and engaged with production.

We’re looking for someone who can see the bigger picture, but who isn’t afraid to get into the detail. Someone who will challenge existing ways of working, use data to understand where improvements can be made and, importantly, take ownership of making those improvements happen.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the senior leadership team, you’ll have a broad remit across production performance, planning, delivery, and continuous improvement, including:

  • Owning production performance against agreed targets
  • Driving monthly output through effective planning and prioritisation
  • Improving OTD and leading recovery plans
  • Reducing downtime by identifying and eliminating recurring issues
  • Driving reductions in overruns and improving productivity
  • Leading operational change from concept through to implementation
  • Working with Team Leaders to improve performance and accountability
  • Driving root cause resolution rather than short-term fixes
  • Working cross-functionally to resolve quality, cost, and delivery challenges
  • Ensuring clear communication of plans and priorities throughout production

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You’ll need to be comfortable operating at a senior level, but this isn't a position for someone who wants to manage production from behind a desk.

You'll be visible, hands-on, and credible on the shop floor, while having the commercial awareness and leadership capability to influence at a more strategic level.

Most importantly, you’ll have a track record of improving operational performance, implementing change, and bringing people with you on that journey.

For the right individual, this is an opportunity to step into an influential position with genuine scope to shape production, drive improvement, and make a visible impact on the wider business.
