Senior Professional Indemnity Lawyer

A prestigious international law firm is looking to appoint a Senior Professional Indemnity Lawyer on a 12-month fixed-term contract, based in its London office.

The successful candidate may come from either private practice or an in-house legal, risk or professional indemnity function who has strong experience in professional negligence claims, ideally including claims brought against solicitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advising on a broad range of professional negligence and professional indemnity claims.
  • Managing and assessing claims against the firm, including claims involving solicitors and legal services.
  • Providing clear, commercially focused advice on legal, regulatory and reputational risk.
  • Identifying, assessing and managing risk across the firm's business and client matters.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders, including partners, lawyers and senior members of the firm's risk and professional indemnity teams.
  • Supporting the management and resolution of complex and high-value claims.
  • Working collaboratively with external advisers, insurers and other relevant stakeholders where required.

About You

  • Qualified lawyer with significant post-qualification experience.
  • Strong experience advising on professional negligence and professional indemnity claims.
  • Ideally, experience handling claims against solicitors or other professional services firms.
  • Strong understanding of identifying, assessing and managing legal and commercial risk.
  • Experience of real estate-related claims would be advantageous.
  • Candidates may come from either private practice or an in-house legal, risk or professional indemnity function.
