Senior Programme Director - Core Banking Transformation

Contract-to-Permanent Opportunity

Edinburgh / London (Hybrid) | Executive Leadership Role | Competitive Day Rate + Permanent Option

Lead One of the UK's Most Ambitious Banking Transformations

We're seeking an experienced Programme Director to spearhead a large-scale Core Banking Modernisation programme for a leading retail banking organisation.

This is a unique contract-to-permanent opportunity for a senior transformation leader who thrives in complex environments and wants to leave a lasting legacy. You'll initially join on a contract basis to lead a strategic transformation programme, with a clear pathway into a permanent leadership position as the programme evolves.

Working closely with executive stakeholders, technology leadership, architecture teams, and business leaders, you'll be responsible for shaping and delivering the future banking platform that will underpin the organisation's growth, innovation, and customer experience for years to come.

The Role

This is a high-profile leadership position with responsibility for driving a multi-year transformation programme focused on modernising core banking capabilities, simplifying legacy platforms, and enabling next-generation digital banking services.

You will own programme strategy, delivery governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and benefits realisation while ensuring business continuity throughout a complex transformation journey.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
