Programme Director - £1,250/day via Umbrella - 6 Month Contract - Manchester / London / Birmingham - Hybrid - SCC Flex Contract
We are seeking an experienced Programme Director to lead the delivery of large-scale business and technology transformation programmes within a complex enterprise environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Programme Director to provide strategic leadership, drive organisational change, and ensure successful delivery of critical initiatives aligned to business objectives.
Your Responsibilities as the Programme Director:
- Provide overall leadership and governance for complex multi-workstream programmes.
- Define programme strategy, objectives, delivery approach, and success measures.
- Lead senior stakeholder engagement across executive teams, business units, and technology functions.
- Manage programme budgets, resource allocation, commercial considerations, and financial oversight.
- Establish and maintain robust programme governance, reporting, risk management, and controls.
- Ensure alignment between programme outcomes, organisational strategy, and business priorities.
- Lead programme managers, project managers, and cross-functional delivery teams.
- Manage dependencies across multiple projects, suppliers, and third-party partners.
- Drive business change, benefits realisation, and organisational adoption activities.
- Provide regular status reporting and executive-level communications to steering committees and leadership boards.

As a Successful Programme Director, You Will Have:
- Proven experience working as a Programme Director delivering large-scale transformation programmes.
- Strong experience leading complex technology, digital, infrastructure, cloud, or business change initiatives.
- Demonstrable success managing significant programme budgets and senior stakeholder relationships.
- Extensive experience operating within structured governance and delivery frameworks.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing suppliers and outsourced service providers.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Experience managing programme risks, dependencies, and benefits realisation activities.
- Ability to operate effectively within fast-paced and highly complex environments.
- Professional qualifications such as MSP, Prince2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent would be highly desirable.
