Job Overview
As the Modular Fabrication Yard Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end execution, quality, and delivery of Honeywell's modular process equipment and skid-mounted systems manufactured in China. You will serve as the core technical and operational bridge between home office project team, local Chinese fabrication yards (sub-vendors), and international project delivery and logistics teams. Your primary mission is to ensure all prefabricated modules are delivered on time, within budget, and in strict compliance with UOP standards and globally recognized quality and safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities
- Fabrication Yard Oversight: Represent UOP as the owner construction/Fabrication manager to guide the third-party Chinese fabrication yards, monitoring daily production schedules and progress of completion, material consumption, and resource capacity.
- Technical Execution: Interpret shop drawings, piping isometrics, Bill of quantities, vendors blueprints, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to support yard operations.
- Quality Assurance & Compliance: Partner with QA/QC managers to enforce rigorous testing protocols (e.g., weld inspections, leak testing, and non-destructive testing). Expert in Fabrication yards QC-dimension control plan during construction to ensure alignment during final tri-fit.
- HSE Leadership: Instill a zero-harm culture by enforcing international and localized Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations within the manufacturing yards.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Coordinate with procurement teams to track fabricator bulk raw materials and UOP free issued materials to fabricators, minimize manufacturing bottlenecks, and optimize domestic/international shipping preparations.
- Progress Tracking & Reporting: Formulate operational productivity metrics, KPI metrics, manage budget variances, and present risk-mitigation data directly to regional stakeholders and the UOP project director. Knowledge of Construction/Fabrication sites advanced work package is an advantage.

QUALIFICATIONS
YOU HAVE
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil/Structural Engineering, or equivalent Industrial Manufacturing.
- Experience: Minimum of 10–15 years of hands-on experience in heavy industrial manufacturing, modular skid fabrication, or petrochemical plant construction.
- Leadership: Minimum of 5–10 years in a supervisory or vendor-management role overseeing cross-functional project teams.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of metal fabrication, ASME welding codes, structural steel codes, and manufacturing codes.
WE VALUE
- Software Skills: Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and layout viewing software (AutoCAD, Navisworks).
- Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently (up to 60%) to vendor yards and assembly sites across Greater China. This role will likely move to another country as the project progresses in future.
