Senior Programmatic Trader

Independent Performance Media Agency | Central London | Hybrid

Salary

£50,000–£55,000, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate

Working pattern

Three days per week in the Central London office

Contract

Permanent, full-time

We are working with a fast-growing independent paid media agency to hire a Senior Programmatic Trader into its specialist trading team.

This is a genuinely hands-on role for someone who has personally built, launched, managed and optimised programmatic campaigns inside leading DSPs. It is not a media planning, strategy or account management position.

The agency manages campaigns across programmatic display, video, CTV, audio, native and digital out-of-home, alongside paid search and social. It combines leading DSP technology with proprietary tools designed to improve campaign insight, implementation and performance.

The role

You will take ownership of a portfolio of major client accounts, including responsibility for more than £250,000 in monthly media spend.

Working closely with the Senior Trading Lead and Client Services team, you will manage campaigns from initial setup through to optimisation, troubleshooting, reporting and account growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and launching campaigns across platforms including DV360, The Trade Desk, Amazon DSP, Yahoo, Vistar and Spotify Ads.
  • Managing targeting, bidding, pacing, budget allocation and performance delivery.
  • Optimising campaigns against commercial KPIs including ROAS, CPA, incremental CPA and new customer acquisition.
  • Analysing campaign data and making clear, evidence-based optimisation decisions.
  • Improving inventory quality and identifying more efficient supply paths.
  • Diagnosing underperformance and taking direct action to improve results.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate manual trading and reporting processes.
  • Advising clients on channel, audience and data strategy.
  • Building the commercial case for increased investment and account growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Candidates coming from an ad tech environment may be particularly relevant, although strong agency-side traders will also be considered. The key requirement is technical depth and current platform ownership, rather than broad programmatic exposure.

Particularly useful experience

The following would be advantageous but is not essential:

  • Amazon DSP and Amazon Marketing Cloud.
  • Full-funnel performance campaign experience.
  • Retail, fashion, travel, pharmaceutical, financial services or B2B clients.
  • Pixels, floodlights and campaign tracking implementation.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving independent agency or ad tech environment.

Why join?

The business offers a high level of autonomy, limited red tape and the opportunity to turn ideas into practical improvements.

You will join a growing specialist trading team, take ownership of important client relationships and have genuine scope to influence how the agency approaches performance, automation, technology and account growth.
