Senior Programme Manager
Location: Remote (UK) Permanent
RS Group is seeking a Senior Programme Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing large, complex programmes or multiple programmes across key areas including Infrastructure, SAP ERP, and Supply Chain.
You will play a critical role in shaping ideas and proposals into fully delivered outcomes, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation—from delivery teams through to C-suite executives. Your leadership, strategic thinking, and delivery expertise will ensure programmes are delivered successfully, on time, and aligned with business objectives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Programme Planning: Develop and manage strategic programme plans aligned with business objectives, ensuring clear timelines, quality standards, and risk management.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage programme resources efficiently while monitoring operational and capital budgets.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure successful and stable programme delivery.
- Programme Execution: Oversee programme delivery to ensure milestones and outcomes are achieved on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Governance: Ensure programmes operate within established governance frameworks and adhere to organisational standards and best practices.
- Performance Monitoring: Track programme progress, maintain accurate forecasting, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders.
- Vendor Management: Manage vendor relationships and ensure effective collaboration and delivery against agreed contracts and SOWs.
- Leadership: Lead and mentor programme and project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Programme Closure: Ensure programmes are formally reviewed and closed, capturing lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
About You:
You are an experienced Senior Programme Manager with a proven track record of delivering large-scale technology and transformation programmes. You bring strong leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to operate effectively across both technical and business environments.

You are comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders while guiding delivery teams to achieve successful outcomes, and you thrive in complex environments where collaboration and continuous improvement are key.
What You’ll Need:
- Programme Management Experience: Extensive experience managing complex programmes, portfolios, and large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Industry Expertise: Proven experience delivering programmes across Infrastructure, SAP ERP, and Supply Chain environments, with strong expertise in SAP ERP and Supply Chain transformation.
- Large Programme Delivery: Demonstrated experience delivering major programmes including Supply Chain (£5–10m+), SAP ERP (£10m+), and large IT transformation initiatives (£15m+).
- Technical Understanding: Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, SAP ERP modules, integration platforms, supply chain systems, and network architecture.
- Project Management Methodologies: Expertise in traditional governance frameworks with a good understanding of Agile delivery and sprint management.
- Strategic Planning: Ability to define programme objectives, scope initiatives, and align delivery with organisational strategy.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop project and programme management professionals.
- Organisational Ability: Strong capability to manage multiple complex programmes and workstreams simultaneously.
- Problem Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to navigate challenges and deliver solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Tools & Reporting: Experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, Planview, and Microsoft Teams for programme delivery and reporting.
- Financial Management: Strong experience in budget ownership, financial forecasting, and cost control.
- Change Management: Understanding of organisational change management principles and transformation delivery.
- Professional Skills: Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution, and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
