Senior Programme Manager - Crewe

Hours:
5 days per week (37.5 Hours) Worked between Monday- Friday
Salary:
Grade 2A - £44,720 - 48,332 (5% employer pension contribution, Medicash and group life assurance, 27 days annual leave per annum for FTE plus bank holidays)
Location:
Contractually based from our Manchester Office, with some flexibility to work from home, subject to business requirements and line manager approval. Regular travel to programmes in the North West and occasional travel to other areas, as required.
Role Summary
The Senior Programme Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day delivery and oversight of our new programme in Crewe. This will involve working with a range of schools from nursery to post-secondary, local government, delivery partners and other key stakeholders. The role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of an ambitious, passionate team committed to overcoming inequity and improving outcomes for children and young people.
Key Objectives of the Role:
- Identify the key areas of strength and development within each education settings in relation to literacy.
- Support the schools in setting up appropriate assessments, preparing proposals for relevant interventions and determining what CPD would be most impactful in the schools.
- Support the adoption of a research-led approach to improving outcomes for young people, particularly the most vulnerable, helping both education and multi-agency settings to identify and evidence need, before designing and delivering collective solutions to these needs.
- Facilitate community of practice sessions with senior education leaders focused on identifying and supporting whole school inclusion and pupil outcomes.
- Develop the collective impact conditions, ensuring that all projects further establish a clear common agenda, shared measurement framework, mutually reinforcing activities, continuous communication channels and sustainable backbone function.

Experience (essential)
- At least 5 years’ experience of working with senior leadership teams within the education sector
- Proven experience of leading successful projects within some or all of the following areas: literacy, transition and SEND
- Proven experience of managing relationships with a range of senior stakeholders, including senior school and LA leaders
- Experience of applying understanding of the evidence base around education improvement
- Experience of using education data to analyse impact
- Experience leading collective-impact projects
- Experienced in team management, individual development, and leading by example

Experience (desirable)
- Experience of translating analytical research into practical recommendations and concrete actions
- Experience with literacy best practice, research and interventions
- Experience of successful multi-agency working
Skills (essential)
- Proven exceptional organisational and project management skills
- Ability to influence, inspire and to initiate change
- Ability to manage conflict and drive positive solutions
- Excellent relationship management skills and ability to work with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement practical and effective solutions
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team working on a larger project
- Effective communication skills including strong written English skills (report writing, research and presentation)
- Sound ICT skills
- Numerate with the ability to analyse and interpret pupil data and financial information
Qualifications and knowledge (essential)
- Teaching qualification
- In-depth knowledge of education improvement
- An understanding of research led practice in schools
- Ability to represent the charity credibly with schools and external contacts in the education sector
- A deep understanding of the local, regional and national education landscape
Qualifications and knowledge (desirable)
- Knowledge of Speech, Language, Communication and Literacy needs
- An understanding of collective impact and implementation approaches
