This opportunity to undertake the role of Senior Programme Manager - Patient Safety Lead for a temporary period of 8 months is open to all staff within Health Innovation West of England.
We would like to explore if there is anyone from within HIWE who has the aptitude and appetite to take on this role as a quite unique personal development opportunity.
This temporary role is advertised at AFC 8B and will report directly to Deputy Director for Programmes – Deployment, David Evans.

Main duties of the job
The full job description is attached, but essentially the role will focus on leadership of the patient safety team and individual team members, with a clear focus on the planning and delivery of the various programmes of work within the portfolio. Additionally, effective management of key stakeholders will be critical, including NHSE commissioners, colleagues from within our Patient Safety Collaborative and other HIN Patient Safety Leads. Close working with Mark Juniper, chair of our PSC and Tasha Swinscoe, national CO for Patient Safety will also be a feature.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
See Job Description for full information, but here is a brief summary of roles and responsibilities:
- The post holder will coordinate the work and outputs of one or more complex and/or high-profile specific projects or programmes and will oversee all aspects of these projects or programmes using planning, monitoring, and controlling processes seeking support and input from other staff as appropriate.
- The post holder will drive and support the planning, management, and delivery of key projects, including the development of project plans with appropriate phasing timescales and budgets, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that key staff members are engaged and able to support project delivery timescales.
- The post holder will facilitate the day-to-day operational delivery of the Patient Safety Collaborative or wider team under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Programmes.
- The post holder will support the Deputy Director of Programmes, the Director of Programmes and wider senior leadership team with all reporting requirements and the coordination of reports to internal and external groups.
- The post holder will work with the Director of Programmes and the Deputy Director of Programmes, along with other Health Innovation West of England staff including the insight and evaluation team and the communication and events team, to develop relationships and influence, that ensure ownership of change is achieved and that supportive and sustainable relationships are in place.
