The Role
A hybrid role working between our Bristol office, clients sites and from home, this is a hands-on, varied, client facing role for a Senior Project Consultant.
Covering the full project lifecycle: discovery, technical scoping, solution design, planning, implementation, testing, client communication, documentation, handover and early-life support, you will manage your own portfolio of projects, and coordinate the people involved, but will not have line-management responsibility.
The projects you deliver will be a varied mix of small & large client projects across Microsoft cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, telephony and workplace technology. For this reason, you must be comfortable working through the technical detail, keeping people informed, making sure nothing is left unfinished, and delivering a clean handover, internally & to clients.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities of the Senior Project Consultant role can be defined as:
- Lead discovery conversations and technical workshops to understand the client’s current environment, business needs, risks and intended outcomes.
- Translate requirements into a clear, deliverable scope, including assumptions, dependencies, resources, effort, timescales, and acceptance criteria.
- Support technical pre-sales by producing or reviewing statements of work, solution designs, implementation plans and accurate project estimates.
- Plan and deliver multiple projects at the same time, keeping milestones, actions, risks, issues, changes and budgets visible and under control.
- Carry out hands-on installation, configuration, migration, upgrade and remediation work, both remotely and on client sites.
- Coordinate clients, internal consultants, the Service Desk, suppliers and third parties so that everyone understands the plan, their responsibilities and what happens next.
- Communicate clearly and regularly with clients, including when a risk, technical issue or change may affect scope, timing or cost.
- Test and validate solutions, manage cutover activity and resolve issues during deployment and early-life support.
- Produce accurate technical, configuration, as-built and handover documentation, and make sure the Service Desk is ready to support the solution.
- Close projects properly, including completion checks, lessons learned, outstanding actions and confirmation that agreed outcomes have been met.
- Identify practical improvements to project delivery, client environments and WestSpring processes.
Our Projects
No two client environments are the same. Your projects may include:
- Microsoft 365 and modern workplace migrations, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Autopilot, Defender, Conditional Access and Purview
- Azure and infrastructure projects, including Azure IAAS, Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualisation, storage and remote desktop environments
- Network and connectivity upgrades involving switches, wireless access points, VLANs, routing, VPNs and internet services
- Firewall deployment and migration, including WatchGuard or comparable platforms
- Office relocations, new-site openings, business rebrands and wider infrastructure transitions
- Endpoint and mobile device-management projects across Windows, macOS, iOS and Android
- Cybersecurity and compliance improvements, including Cyber Essentials preparation and remediation
- Telephony and meeting-room technology, including Microsoft Teams Phone, Gamma solutions and audio-visual equipment
- Third-party application migrations and integrations where close coordination with software vendors is essential

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
