Senior Document Controller
Location: Acton, West London – Hybrid
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + Car Allowance + Benefits
Sector: Data Centres / Mission Critical
Job Type: Permanent
Are you an experienced Document Controller ready to take the lead on information management across a major hyperscale data centre project?
If you’ve spent your career in construction Document Control and are ready for a role with more ownership, visibility and influence, this is an opportunity to become the senior point of contact for project information on a major development in Acton, West London.
My client is a growing design, construction and engineering contractor specialising in Data, Defence and Energy, delivering technically complex projects where accurate, well-managed information is critical to successful delivery.
You’ll initially be based in Acton, supporting the delivery of two new hyperscale data centres together with associated office, substation and infrastructure works.
The Opportunity
This is more than processing drawings and maintaining registers.
As Senior Document Controller, you’ll take the lead on the day-to-day Document Control operation at our Acton project, while also providing guidance and support to Document Controllers across other projects.
You’ll be involved from project mobilisation and CDE setup through design, construction, commissioning, closeout and final handover, giving you genuine ownership of the information lifecycle.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

A big part of the Senior Document Controller role will be making sure the project team has the right information, in the right place, at the right time.

You’ll work closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and clients, helping people understand information requirements and resolving issues before they begin affecting project delivery.
As the senior person within the day-to-day function, you’ll also support and mentor Document Controllers, help manage workloads and priorities, monitor KPIs and drive greater consistency in how Document Control is managed across the business.
As the project moves towards completion, you’ll play a key role in coordinating O&M manuals, as-built information, commissioning records, certificates, warranties and other handover documentation.
