Our Opportunity We have a number of Project Controller and Senior Project Controller roles available in A2IS business based in Crawley.
You will be responsible for ensuring best practice Project Controls are deployed across bids and projects in accordance with defined Thales processes and that data from those Controls is interpreted and clearly presented as actionable information for Project Leadership and Senior Management decision-making.
Key responsibilities and tasks:
- Ensure that all Projects have a robust Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and Performance Management Baseline (PMB).
- Deployment and performance of Project Controls within a Portfolio or Project.
- Identifying trends, analysis of variances and recommending appropriate corrective actions with a strong focus on proactive risk and opportunity management, including identification and support to the resolution of cross-portfolio risks/issue themes.
- Establishing and operating an appropriate business rhythm/drumbeat (e.g. ETC Reviews, Schedule Reviews, Risk Reviews, Reporting Activities). As well as this, consolidate reports, ensuring that reports are issued in a timely manner, and the facilitation of Project reviews. You will also be working with Project leadership to identify and implement appropriate metrics.
- Ensure resource forward load is accurate and timely, including the analysis of resource profiles (labour and material) and making recommendations to reconcile anomalies and optimise deployment.
Experience & Skills:
- You will have a strong track record of successfully designing, deploying, operating and/or improving the full range of Project Controls in a context relevant to Thales.
- You will be able to build strong relationships with key stakeholders in complex environments and working across functional boundaries.
- You will have an awareness and understanding of advanced Project Control techniques (e.g. Earned Value Management and Schedule Risk Analysis), with experience of deploying these techniques for more senior positions.
- Lastly, you will be able to define and implement appropriate KPIs to understand progress and provide insight into likely future performance.

Security Clearance Requirement: Due to the nature of the work that we do at Thales, many of our roles are subject to security restrictions. This role requires Security Clearance (SC). It would be advantageous if currently held, however, if not currently held, it is a requirement that the successful applicant undergo, achieve, and maintain SC Clearance prior to commencing employment.
To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years. In some circumstances, a minimum of 3 years’ residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted, with additional overseas checks.

Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance (ISR) From smart sensors (Electronic Warfare & Surveillance radars), to integrated collaborative mission systems for manned, unmanned and digital platforms, we enable the gathering, processing and interpretation of a vast range of critical information – sovereign, structured and open-source – the information which is trusted and used at the highest levels to help nations make the right decisions at the right time, and achieve the right outcomes.
Above Water Systems (AWS) Above Water Systems is one of our newest domains in the UK. It was created in 2021 to capitalise on the success of the Type 31 programme awarded in November 2019. AWS UK will conduct Combat system integration in the UK which will be able to deliver and support Combat systems through life into and from the UK.
