Driving delivery across vital water and wastewater programmes nationwide.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number of Senior Project Delivery Managers to join our growing Water team, delivering a diverse portfolio of technical projects across the UK. This is a key role for an experienced project professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working across complex engineering and digital delivery programmes.

Purpose And Scope Of The Role

You will lead projects through the full lifecycle, from inception to handover and closure, working within a multi-disciplinary team on technically challenging and commercially significant work. The role will involve managing project delivery, programmes, budgets, risks and stakeholder relationships, while supporting both capital works and software as a service projects. You will work closely with clients, colleagues and supply chain partners to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes delivered in line with agreed scope, time and cost.

You will play a central role in driving successful project outcomes, strengthening client relationships and helping to grow a high-performing project management team. In the short term, you will be trusted to lead live projects and support delivery excellence. Core Capabilities

  • Project delivery leadership – Proven ability to drive projects forward through the full lifecycle, maintaining focus on scope, schedule, cost and quality while keeping delivery teams aligned.
  • Technical and engineering understanding – Strong background in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, with the ability to work confidently in technical environments and understand engineering-led delivery.
  • Commercial and contract awareness – Ideally experienced in NEC4 contracts, with an understanding of how to manage contract requirements, change, risk and performance effectively.
  • Stakeholder management – Able to build positive working relationships with clients, delivery teams and wider stakeholders, communicating clearly and resolving issues constructively.
  • Adaptability across project types – Comfortable managing engineering projects and adapting your approach to suit different delivery models and client needs.

Skills, Qualifications And Experience

You should be degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline. Preferably you will be at or approaching chartered status with a suitable body.

Experience of successfully driving project delivery is essential, and NEC4 contract knowledge or experience would be highly desirable.

You will also need strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain delivery focus. A full UK driving licence is required.

Work patterns and locations

We are recruiting across Warrington, Brighton, Exeter, Leeds, Sheffield and Derby. Hybrid working arrangements may be available, depending on project and business needs, with occasional travel to client, site and team locations as required.
