Senior Project Engineer – Piling & Ground Engineering

Location: Padeswood Works, Buckley

Contract Length: 5 months

Pay Rate: £400 per day

Start Date: ASAP


We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support major piling and ground engineering works at Padeswood Works, Buckley.

This is an excellent opportunity for a site-based engineer with strong experience in piling and ground engineering, who can provide technical oversight while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

The Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will provide engineering and technical support throughout the project, working closely with the Construction Supervisor, Project Manager, Commercial Team, clients and other key stakeholders.

You will ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications, quality requirements and health & safety standards.

  • Provide engineering oversight on piling and ground engineering projects.
  • Ensure construction works comply with approved designs, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Monitor changes in ground conditions and assess their impact on the works.
  • Ensure temporary works are appropriately planned and compliant.
  • Prepare and maintain RAMS, ITPs, lift plans and other site documentation.
  • Monitor quality and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs) through to close-out.
  • Maintain rig instrumentation records, production graphs and as-built drawings.
  • Compile accurate daily diaries, site records and project documentation.
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, designers, suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external progress meetings.
  • Work with the Project Manager and Construction Supervisor to ensure the correct resources are available.
  • Support the Commercial Team with contract administration, variations, early warnings and compensation events.
  • Assist with project cost planning and commercial records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.

Requirements

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with:

  • Proven experience working on piling and/or ground engineering projects.
  • Experience with Rotary Bored Piling, CFA piling and/or pile load testing.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction techniques.
  • Experience with site quality control, design compliance and temporary works.
  • Good knowledge of health, safety, wellbeing and environmental requirements.
  • Experience producing RAMS, ITPs, lift plans and site records.
  • An understanding of construction contracts, tenders and commercial processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Competent IT skills across standard construction/project software.
  • A relevant CSCS card.
  • A valid safety-critical medical fitness certificate.
