Senior Project Engineer

The Company
Our client delivers bespoke projects for the food, beverage, and other process sectors, working closely with a number of blue-chip manufacturing companies throughout the UK. The business employs 150 staff in the UK with a turnover of £20 million and a near 50-year trading history, with a pride in excellence in project delivery.
The business is currently looking to add a talented Senior Project Engineer to their team to work with one of their key customers based in Slough. The business delivers a wide range of projects at their customers' sites and is looking for a Project Engineer who can lead and manage these projects on-site and continue to build on their strong relationship with their customer.
The Role
The role of Senior Project Engineer will see you act as the lead for the client for projects taking place on-site. The projects include the design, manufacture, and installation of process lines at the customer site. Our client does not manufacture the equipment themselves but acts as the integrator for the whole project.
A typical project could be worth £1 million and would require our client to provide the mechanical, electrical, and software design for the layout, procurement of equipment required for the project, and the management on-site of the installation and delivery.

The project will involve:
- Producing project quotations for the customer from tender
- Producing a programme of work for the project
- Liaising with internal mechanical, electrical, and software design to ensure design requirements for the project are understood
- Sourcing providers for mechanical and electrical equipment for the project as well as any site civil works required
- Managing any variations to the order with the customer through the project
- Ensuring all paperwork is in place to carry out site work
- Ensuring day-to-day on-site that the installation and commissioning of equipment is being delivered to the correct layout and timescales
- Ensuring all site work is adhering to Health & Safety requirements
There will be typically 6-10 tradesmen on-site for a project of this size, who will have a foreman on-site.
Depending upon the size of the projects you're running, you may have multiple projects you are overseeing at the same time.
The Candidate
To be successful in your application for this Senior Project Engineer role, you will need:
- Experience in running and leading engineering projects
- A mechanical engineering background
- Ability to make commercial decisions
- Ability to build a strong relationship with the site customer
