About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Engineer Civil/Structural to join our growing Infrastructure Department and play a key role in the design and delivery of major projects across Ireland.
We are open to candidates from either a civil or structural engineering background. You do not need to specialise in both. What is important is a strong technical foundation in your chosen discipline, combined with an interest in working on varied and challenging infrastructure projects.
Few roles offer this breadth of experience. Our project portfolio ranges from major urban regeneration schemes such as Cork Docklands, to water and wastewater infrastructure, schools and hospitals, sports facilities, airports, public realm, energy infrastructure and a wide variety of civil and structural engineering projects.
You will join a young, ambitious and growing team where engineers are given genuine responsibility and encouraged to take ownership of their projects. You won't be limited to one small element of a larger design. You will have opportunities to work directly with clients, influence key engineering decisions and see projects develop from initial concept through to construction on site.
The role offers exposure across the full project lifecycle – including feasibility and optioneering, preliminary and detailed design, multidisciplinary coordination, procurement, construction support and handover.
Whether your background is in civil infrastructure or structural engineering, we are looking for someone who wants to continue developing technically while also taking greater responsibility for projects, clients and project delivery. The role can be shaped around your experience, strengths and the direction in which you want to develop your career.

- Lead and coordinate the design and delivery of civil and/or structural elements of major infrastructure projects, from feasibility and concept development through detailed design and construction.
- For civil engineering projects, develop practical and buildable solutions across roads and site infrastructure, drainage, utilities, earthworks, site development and associated civil works.
- For structural engineering projects, develop safe, efficient and buildable solutions involving reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, foundations, retaining structures and associated temporary and permanent works.
- Undertake and oversee engineering analysis and design appropriate to your discipline, including the preparation and review of calculations, drawings, specifications, technical reports and tender documentation.
- Take ownership of projects and design packages, coordinating internal and external resources to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams alongside civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, environmental and other specialists.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable Eurocodes, British Standards, Irish and UK requirements, client standards and health and safety obligations.
- Manage project programmes, budgets, resources, risks and deliverables to achieve time, cost and quality objectives.
- Work directly with clients and stakeholders, participating in design and project meetings, providing clear technical advice and helping to resolve engineering and delivery challenges.
- Provide technical support through procurement and construction, including responding to technical queries, reviewing contractor submissions and attending site where required.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, graduates and technicians, helping to develop the wider team.
- Promote high standards of technical quality, sustainability, innovation and client service across all projects.
Key Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (BEng, BSc, MEng or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status or actively working towards chartership or professional registration with Engineers Ireland, ICE, IStructE.
- A minimum of seven years’ relevant experience in civil or structural engineering.
- Strong technical knowledge within your chosen discipline. This may include civil infrastructure such as roads, drainage, utilities, earthworks and site development, or structural engineering involving reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, foundations and retaining structures.
- Experience delivering civil or structural engineering projects from feasibility and concept development through detailed design and construction support.
- Strong knowledge of recognised engineering design standards and codes relevant to your discipline, with the ability to apply these effectively in practice. Previous Irish or UK project experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and coordinating internal and external design resources.
- Strong communication, leadership and project management skills, with the confidence to engage directly with clients, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering design and analysis software. This may include Civil 3D, AutoCAD, InfoDrainage or similar for civil engineering candidates, and Tekla Structural Designer, Tedds, Autodesk Robot, MasterSeries or similar for structural engineering candidates.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining programme, budget and technical quality requirements.
