Senior Project Manager (Track)
Contract: 3 Months
Rate: £500 per day (Inside IR35)
Location: Manchester / North West (3 days on site)
We are seeking an experienced Track Design Engineer to join a major rail infrastructure programme focused on the long-term development of the UK's rail network. This is an exciting opportunity to support the design and delivery of projects that will enhance capacity, improve connectivity, and enable future rail growth.
You'll be working across several strategic rail programmes, including:
- Leeds to York
- Sheffield to Micklefield to Selby
- Micklefield to Selby
- Leeds to Sheffield

- Review and develop track designs produced by external design suppliers.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers to progress designs through to completion.
- Attend regular design meetings and provide technical input throughout the design process.
- Support the development of solutions for a variety of track layouts and rail infrastructure challenges.
- Ensure designs meet Network Rail standards and project requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in track design within the UK rail industry.
- Experience working on early-stage design and project development.
- Knowledge of Network Rail design standards and processes is desirable.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Previous Network Rail experience is advantageous but not essential.

Working Arrangements
- 3-month contract.
- £500 per day (Inside IR35).
- Hybrid working with a minimum of 3 days per week on site in Manchester or other local project locations.
- Occasional travel to supplier offices in Leeds, York, or Birmingham may be required, with expenses reimbursed in line with project policy.
