The role

This is your opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a flagship nuclear new-build programme that will play a critical role in the United Kingdom's energy future. Working as part of the Hinkley Point C Commissioning Alliance, you'll help drive complex commissioning work from planning through to delivery, gaining invaluable experience on one of the largest engineering and infrastructure projects in Europe.

Day-to-day, You'll Be Required To

  • Supporting the Project Manager to deliver commissioning activities in line with safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives
  • Defining work scope, coordinating interfaces and ensuring effective project execution across multidisciplinary teams
  • Preparing, maintaining and reviewing project documentation, plans, contractor submissions and technical drawings
  • Monitoring project progress, managing risks and issues, and providing accurate reports to key stakeholders
  • Facilitating project meetings and ensuring contractual, regulatory, environmental and quality requirements are achieved

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. The role is primarily site-based, with flexibility to work across project offices when required. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites will be expected.

Essential Experience Of The Senior Project Engineer (Commissioning)

  • Quality leadership experience within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing and construction projects.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing quality professionals.
  • Experience managing supplier quality activities and working directly with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality governance principles.

Qualifications For The Senior Project Engineer (Commissioning)

  • Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Further details are available at United Kingdom Security Vetting: clearance levels - GOV.UK
