Senior Project Lead, Clinical Programmes – London or Edinburgh – Permanent

I’m currently supporting a leading organisation within the life sciences sector looking for an experienced Senior Project Lead, Clinical Programmes to join their Clinical Research & Innovation team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical project/programme leader to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of complex clinical projects, working across internal teams, external partners and collaborators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex clinical projects from planning and set-up through execution and close-out.
  • Take full accountability for delivery against timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, milestones, dependencies and delivery approach.
  • Lead external partners, collaborators and delivery organisations, acting as a key point of contact across assigned projects.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues, including mitigation, escalation and resolution.
  • Provide clear project updates to support governance and decision-making.
  • Lead across matrixed, cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple workstreams and dependencies.
  • Potentially act as Programme Lead for larger or strategically important initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Significant experience leading complex clinical projects or programmes.
  • Strong end-to-end clinical project delivery experience.
  • Experience managing timelines, budgets, risks and project performance.
  • Strong experience managing external partners and multi-stakeholder clinical initiatives.
  • Experience leading across matrixed and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong clinical development/clinical trial experience across therapeutics, diagnostics, devices or related areas.
  • Experience within rare disease, global health or relevant priority disease areas.
  • Strong stakeholder management, governance and communication skills.
