About The Role

The Senior Project Manager will lead the successful delivery of larger, more complex and business-critical projects across the VDO portfolio, applying experienced project management judgement to deliver customer-focused and commercially sound outcomes within agreed scope, time, cost and quality.

In this role you will provide delivery leadership across complex initiatives, coach and support Project Managers to strengthen capability and consistency, and may also oversee larger projects or programmes, providing task-level direction and coordination without line management responsibility.

The role may also act as a delegate for the Head of VDO when required, supporting portfolio control, senior stakeholder management and board-level reporting or presentation cover.

  • Balance structure and pragmatism, applying the right level of governance depending on project size, complexity and risk, whilst adhering to agreed FGH standards, guidelines and processes.
  • Ensure technical requirements are clearly articulated in business language, helping stakeholders understand impacts, dependencies and priorities.

  • Role-model strong delivery leadership, setting clear expectations for quality, governance, stakeholder management and delivery discipline across complex projects and programmes.
  • Oversee larger projects or programmes where other Project Managers support delivery, providing task-level direction, coordination and prioritisation without line management responsibility.
  • Act as a senior escalation and support point for Project Managers where delivery challenges arise, helping to unblock issues, resolve delivery dependencies and escalate risks appropriately.
  • Support portfolio control activity on behalf of the Head of VDO when required, including consolidating delivery status, risks, dependencies, decisions and priority trade-offs.
  • Represent the VDO in senior forums and provide cover for the Head of VDO at board or governance meetings when required, presenting delivery progress, risks and recommendations with confidence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
