The Opportunity

The Senior Project Manager will provide senior leadership and single-point accountability for a defined batch of projects across the Yorkshire Water Framework, with a particular focus on progressing projects effectively through the pre-construction phase and into delivery.

The role will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are developed in a controlled, commercially focused and deliverable manner. This includes maintaining oversight of programme, cost, risk, governance, technical assurance and delivery readiness across the project portfolio.

A key focus will be establishing early and effective engagement between pre-construction and delivery teams, ensuring that buildability, construction methodology, programme, logistics and delivery risks are considered before key project decisions and commitments are made.

Location: Sheffield

What You Will Be Doing

  • Provide overall leadership, ownership and accountability for a defined batch of projects from early development and pre-construction through to successful handover into delivery.
  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensuring design, engineering, commercial, planning, procurement and construction functions are aligned to overall project objectives.
  • Maintain clear visibility of programme, cost, risk, dependencies, key decisions and priorities across the project portfolio.
  • Drive projects through the required governance, assurance, technical compliance and commercial approval processes.
  • Ensure project solutions remain affordable, proportionate, technically compliant and practically deliverable.
  • Establish priorities across the project batch and ensure resources are focused on activities and decisions that have the greatest impact on successful delivery.
  • Challenge unnecessary complexity, duplication and over-design, promoting efficient and value-driven project development.
  • Engage delivery and operational teams early to influence constructability, methodology, programme, temporary works, access, logistics and supply-chain strategy.
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental considerations are embedded throughout project development.
  • Maintain strong commercial oversight, working with commercial teams to understand project affordability, cost development and commercial risk.
  • Identify and escalate emerging risks, constraints and key decisions, ensuring appropriate mitigation plans are established.
  • Ensure projects achieve the required level of maturity before progressing into construction, with scope, programme, cost, risk and delivery strategy clearly understood.
  • Lead the transition from pre-construction into delivery, ensuring continuity of project knowledge and clear ownership of outstanding actions and risks.
  • Build effective relationships with Yorkshire Water and internal stakeholders, providing confidence in the status, priorities and deliverability of projects.
  • Support the wider Framework leadership team in achieving programme objectives and increasing the pace and capacity of projects progressing through pre-construction.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
