About The Role
At Balfour Beatty, we're delivering some of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure projects, helping connect communities and support the transition to a low-carbon future.
We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background to lead the delivery of major infrastructure and access road works on the Skye Reinforcement Project, a critical investment in Scotland's electricity network. This is a unique opportunity to play a leading role on a high-profile project in one of the most challenging and spectacular environments in the UK.
What you'll be doing
As Senior Project Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the civil engineering elements of the project, leading multidisciplinary teams from design development through procurement and construction.
You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading the delivery of significant civil engineering infrastructure and access road works across the project.
- Managing and coordinating design partners to ensure designs are practical, buildable and delivered to programme.
- Driving construction performance across safety, quality, programme and cost.
- Leading project teams including Construction Managers, Works Managers, Engineering, Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety professionals.
- Working closely with the Construction Director and wider leadership team to ensure seamless integration with associated transmission infrastructure works.
- Developing construction methodologies, programmes, risk assessments and delivery strategies.
- Ensuring resources, materials, subcontractors and plant are effectively mobilised and managed.
- Managing project risks, identifying opportunities, and implementing solutions to maintain delivery commitments.
- Monitoring budgets, forecasting performance and ensuring robust commercial awareness throughout the project lifecycle.
- Building strong relationships with key stakeholders, clients, suppliers and delivery partners.
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and high performance across the project team.

Who we're looking for
We're looking for a proven infrastructure delivery leader who can confidently manage large, complex civil engineering projects in challenging environments.
You Will Ideally Have
- A degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Significant experience delivering major civil engineering infrastructure projects, ideally within transportation, energy, utilities or heavy civil engineering sectors.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple workstreams simultaneously.
- Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of NEC contracts and change management.
- A track record of delivering projects safely, efficiently and to a high quality standard.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience managing subcontractors, supply chain partners and design consultants.
- A valid CSCS Manager Card.
- Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
