Looking for a Senior Project Manager

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE) is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Strategic Delivery team.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic change across the charity. Working across a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects, you will collaborate with senior stakeholders to drive successful outcomes that support our mission and long-term goals.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead the successful delivery of strategic projects, ensuring objectives, timescales, budgets, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, registers, and documentation, ensuring effective resource allocation and management.
  • Provide regular updates and progress reports to project sponsors and programme boards.
  • Act as the central point of contact for project governance, planning, and delivery.
  • Engage and coordinate stakeholders, subject matter experts, and end users throughout project lifecycles to ensure alignment and adoption.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and changes to scope.
  • Support the development of business cases to secure project approval and funding.
  • Champion project management best practice and coach colleagues across the charity.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project management frameworks, templates, and documentation to ensure consistency and quality across DofE.

What we are looking for:

We're looking for a confident and experienced project professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and can manage multiple priorities with ease.

  • Significant experience of successfully delivering projects from initiation through to completion, within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong planning, monitoring, and reporting skills, with the ability to communicate progress against milestones and outcomes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A diplomatic and collaborative approach to cross-functional working.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software.
  • A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, is essential.
