Senior Project Manager

We're looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Manchester team based in Manchester.

Location: Manchester

Hours: Full Time Monday to Friday - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

The Senior Project Manager will lead the full lifecycle delivery of a large higher education project, delivering a modern library resource to Manchester Metropolitan University. This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the safe delivery of a flagship project in the North West, managing it on time, on budget and to the highest quality standards. You'll be making critical decisions, driving performance and taking oversight of safety, budget, programme, environmental management and quality whilst empowering your team to excel.

  • Leading the pre-construction phase, managing design, planning and commercial personnel to maintain the pre-construction programme
  • Overseeing successful delivery on site, guiding project teams to achieve operational and commercial goals through effective management of staff, resources and budgets
  • Taking overall responsibility for implementation of Kier's Health and Safety policies, ensuring compliance across all employees and subcontractors
  • Acting as the client point of contact, developing excellent working relationships with representatives from various external bodies
  • Identifying risks and opportunities, collaborating with commercial, design, planning, environmental and Health and Safety functions to develop mitigation strategies

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Project Manager is great for you if:

  • You have significant experience in leading construction projects within a Tier 1 environment
  • You have demonstrable experience of managing project budgets and programmes on successful projects
  • You possess strong communication skills with the ability to produce accurate reports in a timely fashion
  • You have expert knowledge of delivery under relevant contract conditions, including NEC and JCT
  • You hold a relevant Construction Qualification at Degree level or equivalent, 5-day SMSTS, CSCS Black Card and Full driving licence
