Engineering services are delivered for the px group by the engineering consultancy division px Engineering Consultants Limited (“PXECL”). The team comprises of managers, senior engineers, engineers, and designers that have direct experience of construction projects and operating facilities, as well as exceptional engineering expertise.
PXECL has established an excellent reputation with its clients and consequently much of the business is of a repeat nature. The team prides itself on the quality of its services and the strong relationships it builds with its clients and has a track record of delivering an integrated range of services. Key Responsibilities
- Determine clients' requirements and translate them into an actionable plan
- Ensure the project is running on time and to budget
- Make sure the project delivers expected business outcomes
- Identify and manage risk
- Deal with changes to contractual scope
- Ensure work is carried out to px standards and contract requirements
- Co-ordinate work and motivate team members
- Act as the main point of contact for the client
- Coaching and mentoring of project team members
- Assist with developing and maintaining project management processes
- Compile and control a detailed schedule in MS Project/ P6 or equivalent
- Daily management of Project & Engineering teams to enable project delivery
- Work with the financial controller to log, monitor, and control budget, forecast in Excel as a live document for weekly reporting
- Control & maintain client relationships whilst also exploiting opportunities for growth (VO’s, TQ’s, EWR’s & Schedule)
- Drive Supply Chain team to ensure long lead items are specified and bought to achieve schedule and cost
- Review bid documentation and contract to prepare and own handover process from proposal to projects – ensuring contractual requirements are fully understood
- Write Project Execution Plan in line with client requirements

Minimum Requirements
- Degree qualified, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering
- Strong experience in project roles, holding a formal Project Management qualification (PMP or equivalent)
- Project management experience in an Engineering environment is essential, preferably in a heavy engineering (large lifts and heavy steelwork)
- Effective at planning, monitoring, and reviewing
- Understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong computer skills including scheduling experience preferably in MS Project/P6 and MRP experience, preferably SAP
