Job Title: Senior Technical Project Manager
Location: Burgess Hill, UK or London, UK
Onsite Requirement: 3 days per week
Employment Type: Contract (Inside IR35)
Key Responsibilities
Technical Project & Delivery Management
- Lead end-to-end delivery of mobile and digital technology initiatives across planning, build, testing, release, and launch.
- Develop and maintain integrated delivery plans covering scope, milestones, sequencing, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and release timelines.
- Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, Architects, Engineers, QA, and enterprise teams to drive execution and resolve delivery challenges.
- Identify and proactively manage risks, blockers, technical dependencies, and cross-functional dependencies, ensuring clear ownership and timely resolution.
- Manage multiple workstreams and provide clear visibility into progress, priorities, decisions, dependencies, and delivery forecasts.
- Facilitate scope, sequencing, and timeline trade-off discussions while maintaining alignment between product, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Maintain delivery traceability and execution discipline through effective use of Jira and Confluence.
Release & Operational Readiness
- Coordinate end-to-end release readiness activities, including environments, version planning, feature flags, deployment dependencies, launch readiness, and distribution constraints.
- Coordinate stakeholders during production incidents and drive actions through containment, resolution, and post-incident follow-up.
- Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to continuously improve release confidence, quality, reliability, and service stability.

Agile Leadership & Team Enablement
- Lead and support Agile delivery practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, PI planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and risk management activities.
- Stay closely engaged with delivery teams to understand progress, surface issues early, and remove impediments.
- Promote transparency, accountability, servant leadership, continuous improvement, and sustainable delivery practices.
- Leverage delivery and quality metrics, retrospectives, and feedback loops to improve flow, predictability, and execution performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of experience in Technical Project Management, Programme Management, or Software Delivery Management within technology-driven organizations.
- Proven experience leading the end-to-end delivery of complex customer-facing software products, digital platforms, or enterprise technology initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with Engineering teams, Architects, Product teams, QA functions, and enterprise technology stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and SAFe delivery methodologies, including planning, forecasting, dependency management, and scaled delivery.
- Technical fluency across software architecture, APIs, integrations, engineering dependencies, software quality risks, and release management processes.
- Strong project and programme management capabilities across planning, scope management, risk management, issue resolution, dependency tracking, milestone management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery governance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple teams, workstreams, and complex cross-functional dependencies in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Must hold one or more recognized Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist (SA), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent.

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience delivering mobile applications and large-scale enterprise technology initiatives.
- Experience leading and coordinating globally distributed engineering teams, preferably within financial services, payments, travel, or other highly regulated industries.
- Familiarity with APIs, observability platforms, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), service management, feature flag frameworks, environment management, and release coordination practices.
- Experience interpreting engineering delivery, performance, and quality metrics.
- Knowledge of security, privacy, accessibility, compliance, and non-functional requirements within regulated environments.
