A Career Opportunity Unlike Any Other

The Duchy of Cornwall is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to help deliver a significant programme of investment across the Isles of Scilly.

This is far more than a traditional project management role. The Duchy is one of the largest landowners on the islands and is responsible for a diverse portfolio including residential housing, farms, commercial property, hospitality assets, infrastructure and community facilities. As a result, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to oversee an extraordinary variety of projects, helping to shape the future of one of the UK's most unique communities.

From new housing developments and major refurbishments to infrastructure and community-led initiatives, no two projects are the same.

The Role

Working as part of the Property Team, you will take ownership of multiple projects from inception through to completion, managing consultants, contractors, stakeholders and budgets while ensuring successful delivery in a challenging island environment.

You will:

  • Lead the delivery of construction and property projects across the Duchy's estate.
  • Manage contractors, consultants and project teams.
  • Oversee programme, cost, quality and risk management.
  • Resolve issues and keep projects moving in a complex operational environment.
  • Build strong relationships with local stakeholders and the wider island community.
  • Support the ongoing development and enhancement of the Duchy's property portfolio.

About You

We are interested in practical, delivery-focused professionals who enjoy problem-solving and taking ownership.

You are likely to have experience as a:

  • Senior Project Manager
  • Project Manager
  • Construction Manager
  • Site Manager
  • Development Manager
  • Building Surveyor with significant project delivery experience

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Our Values

Our values describe how we work together, make decisions and deliver our purpose. They help turn the Duchy’s ambition into everyday behaviours - the choices we make, the standards we hold ourselves to and the way we treat colleagues, partners, customers and communities.

For new starters, the values are a useful guide to what matters here: curiosity, accountability, connection and care. They are not just words on a page; they are intended to shape how we show up, how we learn and how we create impact together.

We reimagine what’s possible

This value is about staying curious, challenging assumptions and being willing to think differently. We are encouraged to explore new ideas, experiment, learn from what does not work and keep our eyes on the long-term future rather than settling for short-term comfort.

This means we will:

  • Ask questions
  • Welcome new perspectives
  • Test new approaches and see progress as something we build through learning - not perfection.

We turn intention into impact

This value is about moving from good intentions to meaningful action. We are here to deliver impact, not just talk about it. That means acting with purpose, following through with accountability and upholding high standards in everything we do.

This means we will:

  • Take ownership
  • Focus on bringing solutions and taking action
  • Do the right thing – not the easy thing.

We build connection

This value recognises that the best outcomes happen when people feel included, supported and valued. Listening matters as much as leading, and we work best when we bring different perspectives together with openness, humility and kindness.

This means we will:

  • Put “we” before “me”
  • Actively seek input from others
  • Share knowledge openly
  • Build strong partnerships
  • Take time to understand the people and communities connected to our work.

We navigate complexity with care

This value is about balancing bold ambition with careful, informed action. The Duchy works in complex places, systems and relationships, so we need to consider the bigger picture, understand the ripple effects of our choices and find thoughtful ways forward.

This means we will:

  • Be adept at working in a complex and changing environment
  • Be flexible and responsive
  • Make informed decisions
  • Look for the best route through - without over-complicating things or avoiding difficult choices.
